A Thai police officer has become an unlikely Internet sensation after employing PUBG-style tactics to apprehend a sex offender

The incident, which unfolded in Chachoengsao province, saw the officer don a full ghillie suit and crawl through rice fields to apprehend the suspect hiding under a house.

According to South China Morning Post, the operation stemmed from the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl by the suspect Bang Din, who the victim met through social media.

The investigation faced numerous hurdles, including the suspect’s escape attempts, forcing the police to adopt unconventional tactics.

In a bid to finally apprehend Bang Din, the police decided to employ a more covert approach

An officer, meticulously camouflaged in a ghillie suit, crawled for over 300 meters through the challenging rice paddy terrain.

Utilising a telescope, he spotted the suspect hiding beneath a house and successfully apprehended him.

Photos of the camouflaged officer have gone viral, sparking jokes about future arrest methods.

The unconventional approach, reminiscent of the popular video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has garnered widespread praise online

Many commended the officer’s creativity and determination in apprehending the suspect.

The suspect, brought before the court, confessed to all charges, including trafficking of minors, deception, kidnapping, and sexual assault of minors under the age of 15.”
